About

Christopher Laughter is a writer, director and producer drawn to the absurdities, contradictions and complexities of the human experience. Across narrative films, documentaries and branded storytelling, his work challenges perspectives, embraces the unexpected and finds levity in the spaces between life's emotional and societal extremes.

Beginning with skateboard and music videos, Christopher went on to redefine live event filmmaking in Los Angeles as The Video Mouse before expanding into documentary filmmaking and creative direction for brands including adidas Originals, Microsoft, Behr Paint and Riot Games. In 2016, he co-founded Assorted Kinds, a collective supporting under-resourced filmmakers that produced 25 short films in four years, including the four he directed. His films have screened at international genre festivals and his latest short Snow Globe, a gothic Christmas horror, premiered on the Alter YouTube channel. Most recently, Christopher co-wrote and produced the feature film Still Water, a psychological drama exploring identity, trauma and the path towards self healing.

Through Studio Laughter, Christopher continues to develop original film and television projects alongside documentaries and branded content, bringing an independent filmmaker's sensibility to stories both imagined and discovered.
